Conference Call Summary |
Ivan,
The following is a summary of the December 17 SUBOA conference call on the Defined Value Sets revisions:
At the request of SUBOA, members of the A/B/B group met in Albany with members of the Defined Value Sets Team to discuss and reach an agreement on the DVS proposal. The overall objective being the achievement of standardization across SUNY. The two groups reevaluated each of the individual segments of the Defined Value Sets and an agreement was reached for every segment. The results of these negotiations were discussed in detail with SUBOA membership via conference call of 12/17. Based on those discussions, it is requested that:
- That the compromises agreed to by the DVS Team, Research Foundation, and A/B/B be endorsed conceptually by SUBOA. It is recognized that policies and procedures relative to the revised Defined Value Sets need to be developed as well as the identification of legacy system programming needs.
- That the DVS Team reconvene to revise the defined Value Sets document, incorporating the agreed upon changes, and that the revised DVS document be reissued.
- Implementation date of the revised Defined Value Sets document is tentatively targeted for July 1, 2001. However, it is recommended that any changes that can be reasonably accomplished prior to 7/1/01 be implemented. (Example - Chart of accounts revisions).
