SUNY AUXILIARY SERVICE ASSOCIATION

Report to SUBOA: November 16, 2000

Richard Bentley, SASA President (Downstate Medical Center), discussed the following:

  1. The preliminary draft of the SASA Report on Auxiliary Services - 2000, distributed at the previous SUBOA meeting for SUBOA's feedback on content and format, received favorable comments and no revisions from SUBOA.

  2. SASA's Contract Development Task Force has already been appointed and meetings have been initiated. The Task Force is chaired by William Long (New Paltz) and is projected to have SASA's contract issue agenda ready by end of January 2001. As previously discussed, now is the time to act since the ASC contract matters will likely involve multiple agencies and Board of Trustee action which normally require significant lead time.

    • SASA highly recommends SUBOA engage a similar workgroup of SUBOA members develop SUBOA's ASC contract issue agenda within the same time frame so that both SASA and SUBOA are ready to engage whatever System administration process is formulated to further contract negotiations.

  3. SASA's next general meeting will take place on December 7&8, 2000 in Syracuse, NY.
